Naloxone Access & Integration Sprint

Purpose

This educational sprint aims to support healthcare communities in expanding Naloxone access and distribution within perinatal care settings. It will provide an opportunity to explore strategies, implementation approaches, and policy considerations while fighting stigma and breaking down barriers to access. Through shared learning, discussion, and collaboration, this sprint seeks to identify opportunities and practical steps to further normalize and integrate Naloxone in perinatal care. Overall, this intends to strengthen community-wide overdose prevention efforts in Minnesota.


Session Details

All sessions are held from 12 PM to 1 PM on the following dates:

Goals & Objectives

Session 1: Kickoff & Education
  • Overview of Naloxone use, availability, and distribution
  • Addressing stigma and misconceptions in perinatal care
Session 2: Implementation & Strategy
  • Learn from another state’s successful Naloxone integration in maternal healthcare
  • Explore key takeaways and lessons that can inform implementation in Minnesota
Session 3: Minnesota Perspectives
  • Hear from the Steve Rummler Hope Network on their statewide work
  • Explore collaborative opportunities with existing community efforts
Session 4: Peer Learning
  • Learn from hospitals and community organizations currently distributing Naloxone
  • Understand various approaches and workflows to increase access in perinatal care
