Keri Bergeson is first and foremost a full-spectrum family doctor. She spent nine years as a rural family physician and, during that time, founded a rural training program in partnership with the University of Washington. In her time as a rural family physician, she served as the medical director of an FQHC, chief of staff of a critical access hospital, and rural site director of the rural training program. She currently serves as the Director of Rural Programs for the University of Minnesota Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, helping to expand rural GME in the state of Minnesota. She is the Associate Director of the Rural Medical Training Collaborative and a passionate advocate for place-based education in medical training. She also serves as the lead physician educator for the MN Rural Obstetrics Simulation Education Program that supports rural labor decks with high-fidelity simulation brought to the rural community. This program was recently featured in the Star Tribune.
