Angie has been a nurse for twelve years, all twelve of them in the very rural setting of Grand Marais, MN. She has worked in the settings of a skilled nursing facility attached to a rural access hospital, and at the community clinic. In her role she provides prenatal intake and education, lactation consultation services, universal home visits for newborns and families, evidence-based home visiting services, she is the WIC Coordinator, the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Coordinator, as well as a Child Passenger Safety Technician. In both her professional life, and personal life, rural access to good perinatal care is incredibly important.
