Maria Medina, MPH, is the System Director of Equity Initiatives at Fairview Health Services, where she leads the efforts of the Equity Strategy Office focused on building the infrastructure, tools, and processes that help embed equity into the organization’s core work across patient care, employee experience, and community Fairview serves. Drawing on her background in public health, community organizing, and public service as the former Mayor of Richfield, she partners with leaders across the system to turn strategy into practical, sustainable change focused on tackling disparities and improving care and experience across communities.

During Operation Metro Surge, Maria helped build and lead Fairview’s systemwide response, creating a coordinated process that enabled employees and teams to identify emerging community needs, develop solutions, and mobilize action across the organization.
