Dr. Lisa Mattson is the President of the Minnesota Medical Association. She earned her medical degree from the Mayo Medical School and also did her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Mayo. She practiced in the Twin Cities until her recent retirement from Optum Health, where she served as Medical Director. In her previous role, Dr. Matton worked collaboratively with registered nurses to provide case management services to patients with complex medical care needs (diabetes, congestive heart failure, cardiovascular disease, COPD, rare diseases, etc.), a history of high utilization, or risk factors for high utilization to ensure that they are getting the most of their benefits, optimizing their health, minimizing their utilization and allowing them to be functional at work and in their personal lives.
