Karla is a Director of Program Management for Stratis Health leading the organization’s rural-focused programs. For nearly 25 years, Karla has led a wide variety of national, state, and local initiatives supporting rural hospitals and health care providers to improve quality and patient safety including adopting value-based care strategies, developing palliative care services, implementing quality management methods, and a variety of clinical quality and population health efforts. She is a frequent presenter at meetings and conferences, often with a focus on rural implications related to Federal quality programs and value-based care payment models. Karla has a master’s degree in public health administration from the University of Minnesota, an undergraduate degree in community health education from Minnesota State University – Moorhead, and is a Certified Professional in Health Care Quality (CPHQ).
