Cassandra Thompson, BSN, RN, is a nursing leader with more than 10 years of experience in women’s and children’s health. She currently serves as a Patient Care Supervisor in Labor and Delivery at the Fairview University Riverside Hospital.

Throughout her career, Cassandra has been passionate about improving maternal and newborn outcomes through clinical leadership, education, and quality improvement. She has led multidisciplinary initiatives focused on patient safety and obstetric care. Some of her work includes increasing staff retention with a new cohort model, work to improve response times for cesarean deliveries and multidisciplinary care planning and proactive safety huddles for complex maternal and fetal diagnoses. She has presented her work at regional and national perinatal conferences, including the AWHONN MN Section and Synova Perinatal Leadership Forum. Above all, she takes the greatest pride in being the mother to her three children.
