Bethany Sabol, MD, MAS
Bethany Sabol, MD, MAS, is an Associate Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC). She earned her MD at the University of Illinois at Chicago, completed an OB-GYN residency at Oregon Health & Science University, and finished a Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. She also holds a Master’s degree in Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality from Johns Hopkins University. Dedicated to improving clinical outcomes through systemic change, Dr. Sabol co-directs the system’s 9-hospital obstetrical quality collaborative, is the Vice Chair of Quality and Safety for the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health and the Medical Director for Maternal Fetal Medicine. Clinically, she co-directs the Cardio-Obstetrics Program at UMMC. Dr. Sabol is the physician lead for her hospital system’s maternal hypertension initiative and the creator of HOPE-BP, an innovative postpartum remote home blood pressure monitoring program for individuals affected by hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. She is thrilled to participate in today’s Project Echo highlighting considerations for improving care and outcomes for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy in the postpartum period.
