Cornerstone

Cornerstone was founded in 1983 to connect women in crisis due to domestic violence with support and safety. Since then, they’ve become a multifaceted nonprofit with accessible, innovative, and comprehensive services for adults and youth of all genders who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, or crime. Cornerstone has locations in Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, and Minneapolis and partner with numerous organizations in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota to provide seamless advocacy for people seeking help.

Esperanza United

Founded in 1982 by a small group of Latians, Esperanza United was originally an emergency shelter in St. Paul, Minnesota and now also mobilizes Latinas and Latin@ communities to recognize gender-based violence and act to end it by creating communities rooted in honor and respect. Esperanza United continues to ground its work in community strengths and wisdom, as it serves Latin@s locally and nationwide. (Formerly known as Casa de Esperanza)

Phumulani

Phumulani is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing domestic violence and sexual abuse in communities of color throughout Minnesota and the nation. By providing culturally-specific resources to women and girls of African descent, Phumulani hopes to change the cycle of gender-based abuse in vulnerable populations.

Southern Valley Alliance

Southern Valley Alliance (SVA) helps all impacted by domestic violence in Carver and Scott counties, including victims, families, organizations, and communities. People can experience domestic violence vastly differently depending on their cultural, religious, racial, and gender background. At SVA, they understand the importance of addressing these influences and work with survivors to provide culturally competent services and resources.

StrongHearts Native Helpline

StrongHearts Native Helpline is a 24/7 safe, confidential, and anonymous domestic and sexual violence helpline for Native Americans and Alaska Natives, offering culturally appropriate support and advocacy. Some of their services include peer support and advocacy, crisis intervention, information and education about domestic violence and sexual violence, referrals, and more.
