Hear Her – Resources for American Indian and Alaska Native People

The CDC’s Hear Her® campaign recognizes the sensitive stories of pregnant and postpartum people, their partners, families, and friends and strives to share their stories through culturally appropriate resources designed with and for American Indian and Alaska Native people. They honor the lives of those who have passed on and work to prevent future losses.

Hmong American Partnership

Hmong American Partnership (HAP) is a social service and community development nonprofit that serves nearly 30,000 individuals annually. HAP was founded in 1990 to serve Minnesota’s growing Hmong population and is now the largest Hmong-serving organization in the nation. HAP’s staff reflect the populations they serve. HAP prides itself in empowering the community to embrace the strengths of their cultures while achieving their potential.

Nubian Moms

Nubian Moms is a program under Healthy Black Pregnancies designed to provide social support, care navigation, and access to resources to Black women throughout their perinatal journeys (before, during, and after pregnancy). Nubian Moms program exists because Black women experience more stress-related complications related to obstetric racism and other social determinants of health during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Evidence shows that support through their journey helps. 

Birth Equity Community Council

The Saint Paul-Ramsey County Birth Equity Community Council (BECC) was founded in 2017 when a proposal and training program was implemented by CityMatCH and its birth equity cohort. BECC’s main mission is to look for periods of risk associated with perinatal care and inform the community on areas with the greatest opportunities of impact. BECC places a special emphasis on the integration of both qualitative and quantitative data.
