Hear Her – Resources for American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) People

The Hear Her® campaign includes culturally appropriate resources designed with and for American Indian and Alaska Native people. We honor the lives of those who have passed on and work to prevent future losses.

Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition (Hmong Community)

Our mission is to empower Hmong birthing people, parents, and families by creating brave spaces for learning, support, and healing; meanwhile, weaving together our culture and the promotion of breast/chestfeeding and family health and wellbeing in the Hmong community

Ninde Doulas

DIW’s Health Services operates a culturally specific food shelf, provides services for pregnant moms, works on teen pregnancy prevention, and provides traditional healthy foods for DIW’s program participants.

Nubian Moms

Nubian Moms is a program under Healthy Black Pregnancies designed to provide social support, care navigation and access to resources to Black women throughout their perinatal journeys (before, during and after pregnancy). Nubian Moms program exists because Black women experience more stress-related complications related to obstetric racism and other social determinants of health during pregnancy, labor and delivery. Evidence shows that support through their journey helps.

African American Babies Coalition and Projects

The Wilder African American Babies Coalition and Projects provides training, education, events, and resource distribution focused on building the capacity of health systems in Minnesota to provide culturally sensitive and high-quality maternal and infant care to Black and Brown families. We work with nonprofit and civic leaders, researchers, child care providers, parents and grandparents, and public health professionals from across the Twin Cities who are committed to promoting the healthy development of African American babies.

Ramsey County Birth Equity Community Council (RCBECC)

BECC, also known as Birth Equity Community Council, was founded in 2017 when a proposal and training program was implemented by CityMatCH and its birth equity cohort. Saint Paul-Ramsey County participated in the 3rd Birth Equity Institute cohort which included national TA support from CityMatCH and active local community and stakeholder engagement. BECC places a special emphasis on the integration of both qualitative and quantitative data. BECC’s main mission is to look for periods of risk associated with perinatal care and inform the community on areas with the greatest opportunities of impact.

Division of Indian Work

Division of Indian Work’s programs for families provide a variety of services, such as: case management, in-home parenting support, education, groups, and more.

Family Spirit

Family Spirit is an evidence-based home visiting program developed for and with Indigenous communities. Developed by the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health in partnership with tribal communities, Family Spirit optimizes local cultural assets and resources.
