The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) family home visiting team is partnering with the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) to offer a webinar on the Minnesota Paid Leave program. Paid Leave provides nearly every Minnesota worker with paid time off work and job protections when they need to care for themselves or their family. The new program, which launched January 1, 2026, is a powerful tool to improve perinatal care by giving new parents the time, financial security, and support needed to recover from childbirth, bond with their newborn, and establish healthy routines for parents and children.

During each session, participants will:

• Explore how Paid Leave supports parents and caregivers during the perinatal period.
• Help family home visitors understand eligibility, benefits, and application processes.
• Address common questions and barriers to accessing Paid Leave.
• Engage family home visitors as trusted messengers for the new program.
