Honoring National Home Visiting Week!
About Family Home Visiting and National Family Home Visiting Week (April 20-24, 2026)
Family Home Visiting in Minnesota is a vital, evidence-based approach that supports pregnant women and families with young children by connecting them with trained professionals who provide guidance on health, child development, and overall well-being right in their homes.
These programs help build strong parent-child relationships, improve birth outcomes, and promote school readiness, while also addressing challenges such as maternal mental health and substance use. Across Minnesota, every county offers Family Home Visiting services, though programs may vary by region to best meet the unique needs of each community.
Recognizing National Home Visiting Week is an opportunity to honor the trusted relationships home visitors build every day, highlight the positive impact these programs have on families and communities, and advocate for continued investment in services that create healthier starts for Minnesota families.
MNPQC is honored to share perspectives on a range of Family Home Visiting approaches across the state in partnership with the Minnesota Coalition for Family Home Visiting (MCFHV) and LaCriox-Dalluhn Consulting.
About Minnesota Coalition for Family Home Visiting (MCFHV) & LaCriox-Dalluhn Consulting
Founded in 2009, the Minnesota Coalition for Family Home Visiting works to ensure that families across Minnesota have access to voluntary, high-quality Family Home Visiting programs. A key focus of the Coalition is securing stable and sustainable public and private funding so these services remain available statewide. Today, MCFHV includes more than 40 member organizations, including public and private home visiting providers, counties, children’s advocacy organizations, health plans, and funders. Together, they work to strengthen home visiting programs, build political support for home visiting as a core early childhood service, and improve the overall quality of care for families.
LaCriox-Dalluhn Consulting is a community-focused organization that addresses complex challenges through relationship-based strategy, management, and public policy consulting. With expertise in maternal and child health, children’s mental health, family economics, early childhood services, and youth development, they partner closely with MCFHV to help ensure Family Home Visiting services are accessible to all families across Minnesota.
