In the United States, women are more likely than men to experience serious mental illness or a major depressive episode. Maternal mental health conditions are the most common complication of pregnancy, experienced by approximately one in five expectant and postpartum women annually. During Managing Mental Health Across the Maternal Health Journey: A Fireside Chat, the Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR) will explore the unique mental health challenges women face during preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum, as well as opportunities to support their well-being.
Speakers include:
- Joanne Armstrong, MD, MPH, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Women’s Health and Genomics, CVS Health
- Kathryn Schubert, MPP, CAE, President & CEO, SWHR
