Building Survivor Leadership to Address Health and Domestic Violence: Lessons Learned from Survivor Cohorts at Local, State, and National Programs

Survivor leadership is a practice that informs how organizations design services, advance change, and can improve health systems. This webinar from Futures Without Violence brings together three practitioners working in different settings to explore what it actually takes to build meaningful survivor advisory or steering committee structures: how to recruit and compensate members fairly, how to balance safety and confidentiality while staying true to survivors’ stories, and how to integrate survivor input into meaningful organizational change. Speakers will share lessons from building and sustaining advisory groups in local community settings, statewide coalitions, and national organizations.
