Linda Hsiung Dech, MPH, IBCLC, has been the Executive Director for the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies (MMBB) since it started in 2019. The MMBB is a proud member and accredited by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America and licensed by the MN Dept. of Agriculture as a food manufacturer. Prior to this position, Linda was a Breastfeeding Coordinator for the MN Dept. of Health WIC Peer Program. She is one of the founders of the Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition which works on behalf of mothers and babies to make it easier to access mothers’ own milk to ensure the healthiest start in life. Her interest in lactation started by having a 24-week premature baby who spent 3 ½ months in the NICU where mom’s own milk was encouraged and supported. The importance of human milk on the health of these very fragile babies made it her life-long goal to ensure that all babies have access to this liquid gold made by their own mothers.
