Race Equity and Opioid Use ECHO
12:15pm-1:15pm CST
Second Wednesdays: All Health Care Professionals
Fourth Wednesdays: Invited BIPOC Community Partners
Like many states in America, Minnesota’s health care systems are faced with challenges of addressing racial disparities in opioid treatment. In 2019, African Americans were almost two times more likely to die of a drug overdoes than whites. American Indians were seven times more likely to die of drug overdose than whites. Project ECHO is one of many ways to provide a space for BIPOC community members, providers, and doctors to address disparities in opioid care through a community-empowering dialogue where all voices are valued.
Together we can impact the health and wellness of BIPOC Minnesotans. WE invite you to join Cuong Pham, MD (University of Minnesota) and Cedric Weatherspoon, LMFT (Empower Therapeutic Services) for the Minnesota Race Equity and Opioid Use Project ECHO.
