Maternal Mental Health FORUM at the Intersection of Policy, Payment, and Practice

March 18, 2025 - March 19, 2025

 Together with Policymakers, Payors, Provider Leaders, and Partners, the FORUM will discuss progress, roadblocks, and solutions to closing gaps in maternal mental health care. The FORUM agenda will include the following topics @ the intersection of Policy, Payment, and Practice:

Policy:

  • The Federal MMH Task Force
    • the latest strategic plan -including required Congressional actions
    • recommendations to states
    • taking the recommendations to the next level
  • The latest state MMH legislation and regulation
  • Federal Mental Health Parity Regulations and more
Payment:
  • The State of Medicaid and Maternal-Child health
  • Postpartum Maternal Health Care Reimbursement to Obs/Midwives beyond the 6 week appt
  • Mental Health Provider/Facility Reimbursement gaps (IOPs, PMH-Cs and more)
  • Payment for FDA treatments (Zurzuvae and MamaLift Plus)
Practice:
  • Increasing Universal Screening / Behavioral Health Integration
    • screening rates and HEDIS measure gaps
    • embedding CHWs in OB clinics research pilot
  • The Role of Doulas in Addressing Maternal Mental Health
Parent Needs Panel:
  • The latest on equity:
    • report on mental health inequities in the U.S.
