Implementing Plans of Safe Care in the Medical Setting: Supporting Families with Substance Use Disorder

You are invited to join us on Thursday, April 11th for the webinar: Implementing Plans of Safe Care in the Medical Setting: Supporting Families with Substance Use Disorders. The webinar, introduced by Dr. Stephen Patrick, will provide attendees with an overview of Plans of Safe Care and strategies for implementing Plans of Safe Care in hospital settings. The webinar will also feature Dr. Nancy K. Young from the National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare (NCSACW). Dr. Young will provide a brief overview of the Child Abuse and Prevention Treatment Act and the Comprehensive Addiction and Recover Act before introducing the NCSACW’s Plan of Safe Care Expert Video Series. A state Perinatal Quality Collaborative team member will present 1) clinical practice in hospital settings and 2) the critical need to provide coordinated care to pregnant and parenting people with substance use disorders (SUD) along with their infants and family members. The PQC representative will also field questions from attendees. This discussion will also include insights from a person with lived expertise.
