AIM Severe Maternal Morbidity (SMM) Review Form Learning Sprint

To help operationalize the Revised SMM Review Form and supporting materials, the AIM Team is excited to host an SMM Review Form Learning Sprint that will begin end of July through August 2024. This SMM Review Form Learning Sprint is a series of rapid, short term technical assistance offerings focusing on a specific topic. Any state/jurisdiction or hospital team may register for this learning opportunity. As inpatient chart reviews primarily occur at the hospital-level, we highly encourage you to share the registration information with your clinicians and hospital networks.

Description:
 The SMM Review is an inpatient chart review tool to review instances of morbidity to assess quality of care and identify opportunities for improvement. This learning session will discuss the when and why for multidisciplinary case reviews in inpatient settings for quality improvement.

Chart Abstraction Best Practices for SMM Review: The How
Description: 
Once an instance of morbidity has been identified, we need to gather relevant information so we can conduct a multidisciplinary chart review. This learning session will focus on chart abstraction best practices to prepare for a severe maternal morbidity chart review.
