Tiffany (Tipper) Gallagher, BA, IBCLC, PhD Candidate Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition

Tiffany (Tipper) Gallagher, BA, IBCLC, is a board-certified lactation consultant, at-large director of the Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition, PhD candidate at the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities School of Nursing, and study coordinator for the MILk study (http://milkresearch.umn.edu). Prior to joining the MILk study, Tipper worked as an inpatient and outpatient lactation consultant at Hennepin Healthcare, giving her a taste of the potential of EHR-driven research to describe and remediate inequitable lactation care and outcomes. Tipper’s dissertation work takes a big-data approach to examining patterns of breastfeeding-related care provided—and missed—during the postpartum hospital stay.
