Dr. Yaneve Fonge is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist at Allina Health. She completed her medical training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, followed by a residency at Christiana Care Health System and a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Magee Medical Center.

With a strong foundation in public health, Dr. Fonge focuses on health equity and social determinants of health, both domestically and globally. Her clinical practice is rooted in a holistic approach, addressing not only the medical needs of her patients but also the social and economic factors that shape their health and decision-making. Driven by a commitment to combat these barriers, Dr. Fonge is dedicated to advancing health equity and improving birth outcomes. She works to address challenges such as economic insecurity and human rights violations through community-based participatory research aimed at informing health policy. Additionally, she has advocated for evidence-based, safe care for pregnant women worldwide by conducting systematic reviews and contributing to guideline development with the World Health Organization’s Department of Maternal and Perinatal Health. Dr. Fonge has also served on health equity and racial disparities committees at her previous institutions, furthering her commitment to reducing disparities in maternal and fetal care.
