SUMMARY:The Weave West Virginia Model: Strengthening Statewide Responses to Substance Use and Mental Health Coercion in Intimate Partner Violence
DESCRIPTION:Substance use and mental health coercion are common yet often overlooked tactics of intimate partner violence that can undermine survivors’ safety\, health\, and access to care. Addressing these intersecting issues requires coordinated\, cross-system responses that bring together domestic violence\, behavioral health\, healthcare\, and community partners. \nWeave West Virginia is an innovative statewide initiative designed to strengthen collaboration across systems\, expand access to survivor-centered services\, and improve health\, well-being\, and safety for survivors and their families \nIn this session\, participants will learn about the Weave West Virginia model\, including its statewide partnerships\, implementation strategies\, successes\, and lessons learned. Presenters will share practical approaches for developing multidisciplinary collaborations\, integrating survivor-centered practices across systems\, and strengthening coordinated responses to substance use and mental health coercion\, including strategies to improve care for pregnant and postpartum survivors. \nDate & Time: September 9\, 2026\, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm CDT \nLocation: Virtual
